Out-going Iowa Commissioner of Public Safety Larry Noble presents an award to State Senator Tom Hancock of Epworth for his leadership and support of public safety issues during the 84th General Assembly of the Iowa Legislature.

DES MOINES, July 5, 2012 — Iowa Commissioner of Public Safety Larry Noble has recognized State Senator Tom Hancock of Epworth for his leadership and support of public safety issues during the 84th General Assembly of the Iowa Legislature.

“All Iowans can be proud of the professionalism and high quality services provided by the Iowa Department of Public Safety,” said Hancock.  “The opportunity to support men and women in all aspects of public safety was its own reward.”

As chair of the Iowa Senate’s Justice Systems Budget Subcommittee, Senator Hancock helped decide how best to invest state dollars in the Iowa State Patrol, corrections, and other law enforcement areas.

Senator Hancock worked closely with Commissioner Noble, who retired on July 5.  Noble, a former state senator, state trooper and administrator in the Iowa Department of Public Safety, was appointed commissioner in early 2011 when Branstad returned to office.
